The Massachusetts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly called the Food Stamp Program) helps you and your family buy food. Using the EBT Card, you will be able to buy food from most grocery stores, certain senior centers, and some meal delivery services such as Meals on Wheels.
MEDICARE PART D EXTRA HELP/LIS
If you have enrolled or can enroll in Medicare Part D and you have limited income and resources, you may be able to get Extra Help also known as Low-Income Subsidy (LIS). Depending on your income and resources, you will have low or no deductible, low or no premiums, no coverage gap, and will pay much less for your prescriptions. Extra Help can provide you an average value of $4,000 per year!
MEDICARE SAVINGS PROGRAM
This program pays for your Medicare Part B premium. In some cases, this program will also help you pay for some of your other Medicare costs such as:
- Medicare Part B Annual Deductible and Share of Cost which is $183 for your deductible and 20% of your co-pay.
- Medicare Part A Deductibles and Co-payments when you are in the hospital or living in a skilled nursing facility.
In addition, if you enroll in a Medicare Savings Program, you will be signed up for the Extra Help program .
