Boston Asthma Initiative Services
The Boston Asthma Initiative provides free bi-lingual (English and Spanish), asthma educational services to children and families living with asthma. These services include:
- Home visits to provide asthma education and conduct environmental assessments that identify asthma triggers in the home. The home visitor also makes suggestions for how to remove triggers.
- Referrals to housing, environmental, and legal agencies for families.
- Classroom education in Boston elementary schools to teach students about asthma and asthma management as well as assistance to schools in identifying and addressing environmental triggers
- Printed health education and resource guides on asthma for people with asthma, their families, and the community
